Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Levi Jones holds a Bachelor of Music from Juilliard School and a Master’s Degree from the Yale School of Music. His principal teachers were Albert Laszlo, Homer Mensch, and Donald Palma.Levi participated and performed in many festivals, including Britten Pears in UK, L’Academie Domaine Forget in Canada, and Aspen in the USA. An enthusiastic player of new music, he has worked with many living composers, most recently recording Wuorinen’s cantata It Happens Like This for Nonesuch Records. Levi has been a part of the New York Philharmonic Biennial, the Guggenheim’s Works and Process Series, the Helsinki Festival (Finland), and Alice Tully Hall’s White Lights Festival. As an orchestral musician, Levi has performed at the Aspen Music Festival, the Aldeburgh Festival (UK), with the New World Symphony, and with both the Juilliard Orchestra and Juilliard Chamber Orchestra, performing under such conductors as Valery Gergiev and Robert Spano. While at Juilliard, Levi was a Teaching Fellow for the Music Advancement Program, and at Yale, he was Teaching Assistant for “Music Since 1900”. Levi’s love for jazz has led to performances at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, the Visions Festival, and the Nancy Jazz Festival (France). iPalpiti member since 2016
